Living Social Customer Service is a Joke

We purchased 3 Living Social vouchers for a white water rafting trip while we were on vacation. We followed the instructions listed on the voucher. However, the rafting website wouldn't accept our voucher. We reached out to the rafting company who stated we would have to contact Living Social. Living Social only has two ways to contact them. Email and live chat. Their website suggests using their live chat option for a "faster response". Well, we attempted the live chat option as well as email and never heard anything back. I reached out to them via Facebook messenger and finally got a response. However, it was them providing a link to contact them via email. I explained to them that I had already tried this and informed them we had tried several different ways to contact them over a 2 day period and have not received a response back. I also explained we are on vacation and have a limited time to use the voucher. They never responded. Living Social's customer service is lacking, and that is an understatement. Due to this, we will NEVER use Living Social again.

Just don't bother

Bought something first, didn't really understand it so when I figured out I had to redeem it, my cafe had expired! Ok. My fault I thought. So I bought another voucher, tried to redeem it and it just wouldn't let me, came up us oh your deal wasn't found so read up how to redeem it. Which was basically what I was doing. Tried this a few times, always sane results. So write customer service, they told me to wait 48h and try again! (Smart. Right?.) did that. Wrote again, so he offered me credit back, I asked for a refund instead, they didn't answer, soarer 2 days I write again, ok then at least give me the credit, they said yes of course. 2 days later still nothing, wrote them again, sane answer, yes we'll put that credit in your wallet… still nothing. Wrote again. ‍

Ordered and supplier has no knowledge of order

Ordered good vis Living Social. Never received and a total nightmare trying to contact living Social to get a refund. I was able to contact living social in US and Canada but not UK. I wonder why. Simple my goods or refund. I contacted the alleged supplier but they have no knowledge. Also used living Social to book hotel now a few days I'm told the dates are not available total shambles of a company.

How do firms like this exist.

What a waste of time has taken me a month to get action on this firm. Zero rated is what it gets from me.
No phone line open due to Covid, everywhere else are in operation, Emails no return answer at all.
Shopping with LivingSocial is like being blind and deaf and dumb. IYou should keep away from such poor, poor srvice.

SCAMMERS!

Took my money. Never delivered the item. When contacted them after a month for a refund they asked for more money. Then asked me to click on some dodgy link to try and get my money back. Avoid!

Avoid, scammers

Ordered some plants. Paid £16.97 via PayPal. Never arrived. A week later I got an email stating 'your account has been credited £7.99'. At no point did they tell me my order had been cancelled their end. And I'm left wondering what's going on and where is the rest of my money? Phone number isn't manned (just a recorded message about coronavirus- over 2 years on?…that old chestnut? Give me a break- other companies have been answering phones for well over a year), emails bounce back and contact via WhatsApp seems to be a long winded negotiation on how much of MY money I can get refunded and how long it will take. I will NEVER use these scammers again. No plants and still no refund of any of my money. Opening a dispute via PayPal. Buyer beware.

$#*!ing scammers

I'd give a zero star of I could. I bought a voucher for a 1 night stay in an hotel. The voucher it's impossible to redeem and I have been trying with two different phones one computer desktop and every possible browser on it. It simply doesn't work. The hotel won't accept my booking even if showed them the confirmation because they said they can't access the money if the voucher isn't activated. I tried to use living social refund page, but "strangely is unavailable at the moment".
Stay away from this scammers.

Awful!

I was comparing pricing to buy mulch and thought their deal was quite good and paid the delivery charges for the 3 quantities. They stated delivery will be by 31 Mar and I was thinking the other sites delivered earlier but thought should be fine. 31st came and went and no update on my delivery no explanation where my order was. I tried contacting living social/ wowcher on their number and because of Covid they are unable to answer phone calls and we need to chat on WhatsApp. I didn't know you can contract COVID over the phone, that's new! Someone was supposed to respond to me within 24 hours it said. Someone did. He said delivery will be received by 6th April and I was emailed the order tracking number which after a few days still showing no signs my order is being dispatched. We are the 9th April and still NO deliveries. I ordered this on the 23rd Mar and they debited my account but so far no clue where my order is after 17 days! I have to chase the supplier Thompson and Morgan?

Service

What a load of rubbish would never recommend to anyone! I ordered a refurbished Dell 3120 chrome book, it arrived with no case and a gashing big scratch on the screen. Also ordered a fly eliminator it does nothing at all. In general items bought what a waste of £££££££! Would never order or recommend again

Biggest rip off

Buy something and if you don't redeem it by a certain date, lose your money.
Redeem something and the merchant goes out of business lose your money.
Fight because you redeemed something, you have an email confirming it's on its way, merchant goes out of business, they deny you redeemed it, lose your money!
Usually the products are $#*!ty rip offs!
Win win for them, lose lose for you.
Avoid!

Q:

How do you contact this company??????? I want a refund of money, not a refund of bundle bucks!!!!

A:

Rip me off once, shame on you Rip me off twice, shame on me The item i purchased was completely misrepresented as to quality and material. I was supposed to be Stainless Steel and instead was a cheap chrome plated plastic piece of junk. I am trying to get a refund, we'll see. I don't accept their "Final Sale" out on something that is so dishonestly described. It is living social's responsibility to make sure that items sold on their website be accurately and honestly described. If not then they truly cannot be trusted.

Q:

Has anybody bought a Michael Kors watch off LivingSocial. I'm new to this site. And thinking buying a watch for my girlfriend's birthday.

A:

I wouldn't buy anything! Their customer service is really really bad. They won't refund you either. Watchdog have been involved with lots of complaints. Just google reviews and you won't go near! Not sure who is giving good reviews here. Living social employees?!

by Cruz522 - August 13, 2017

A:

Hello Brian, between Living Social and Groupon selling name brand items. I have never had a problem with either and you can always return things and get a full refund. Read all the fine print per item and for any services or purchases that you make because some have expiration dates on them as well. Each distributor differs. LS and Groupn are platform sites for other businesses to sell and get their info out there. They are just the platform. But to ease your mind I have had much success with any and all purchases from both sites with the ease of returning if I don't like it.

Q:

Where is my £99? You are thieves

A:

They took over $80 of my money for theater tickets and there was no theater there! Spent over $400 to take a friend to Chicago, rooms, food, etc and go to the theater. There was NO THEATER for the address listed. No phone number to call; no one in the area knew of a theater but agreed the address listed was in their neighborhood. LS customer service was rude, unhelpful and LS kept my $80.00. I was out $400 as the weekend was planned around the non-existant theater.

There do seem to have been some financial problems with many of the deals from Living Social. But when I had a problem they answered the phone and it was dealt with quickly and the goods resent.

Answer This Question

Q:

How much of the sale price would Living Social take?

A:

Normally a percentage... in my case all of the £99 I've paid living social... can't book hotel so presumably they just keep all of it. Can you imagine how many people they're doing this to around the world?

by Steeves 868 - September 25, 2015

A:

I do not understand your question. However, if you are wondering what the discounted cost is, typically the cost os reduced in 1/2 or a little less. I always go on tje company site of the product I am purchasing to make sure that I am getting a good deal. I would suggest the same to you. I hope this helps.

Q:

Hello, I am a reputable online jewelry vendor who would like to sell on living social. I have repeatedly filled out the proper forms and been told they would get back to me. They have not returned my calls or emails. I have quality jewelry, inventory and great customer service. I would like to know what is the secret to sell on Living Social? I called this morning and finally thru to someone and he said that they were not interested in doing business with us. When asked why he said he did't know. I personally have been a customer of living social and have enjoyed my purchases. I am very disappointed that I have been treated in this fashion. I would appreciate it if you could let me know how I can get someone on the phone who can help me. You would think They could at least give me a try? Thanks so much C. Eisaman company name The Jewelry Empress

A:

Hi cindy, you should try groupon instead. Its been proven reliable to me as compare to living social. There refund policy is swift and approachable. But yet again I can only tell you my experience as a customer with them, know nothing much about their relationship or policies with the vendors.

I was finally able to reach living social and they have addressed my issue to my satisfaction
